Love this. I write to make mathematics accessible. Most of my critics fall into one of two categories:
1. Those who try to correct my presentation with eloquent sanskrit spoken only by a small tribe of Nomads on the Kanyakumari Peninsula between 726 and 756 BC.
2. Those who think the earth is flat.
One time I did produce a piece of truly deplorable mathematics. Those who pointed out my errors were helpful and tactful. My two main types of critic were silent.
I suspect the Category 2 critics weren't aware that my theory wasn't even wrong. And the Category 1 critics may have read the piece and suffered an anaphylactic episode.
I just hope they're OK.
